Pastor Harmon Lewis

Pastor Lewis has been in the ministry for 19 years.  He has served 2 years as Director of Recruitment at Luther Preparatory School, 13 at Saving Grace Lutheran Church in Mobile, Alabama, and 4 years here at Messiah. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Martin Luther College and a Master of Divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.  He serves as the circuit pastor for the Atlanta area churches and is an Auxiliarist in the U.S. Coast Guard.  In his free time pastor Lewis enjoys hunting, long-distance running, and is a classic jeep enthusiast. Pastor Lewis and his wife, Michelle, have three boys. Jacob is 21 and is a senior at Martin Luther College (MLC). Aidan is 19 and a sophomore at Martin Luther College (MLC, and Elijah is 12 and is in the seventh grade at Taylor Road middle school. Michelle has a Bachelor’s of Education degree from Martin Luther College and is a para-professional at Findley Oaks Elementary.

Michelle has a Bachelor of Education degree from Martin Luther College and is a para-professional at Findley Oaks Elementary.

Mrs. Kara Schroeder

Kara grew up in Madison, Wis., but she has lived in California for the past 23 years. She and her husband have four children together. In her spare time, Miss Kara enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, taking her dog on walks and playing pickleball.

Miss Kara taught 3rd-5th grade in Milwaukee after she graduated from college in 1997. When she and her husband started a family, she decided to go back to school for early childhood education. From 2009-2021, she was the director and morning teacher at a preschool in Santa Ana, Calif. She then moved to Carlsbad, California where she taught pre-k from 2021-2024. Miss Kara is passionate about early childhood education and believes young children learn best through playful, active, hands-on learning experiences in a loving, nurturing environment. She is excited to serve the community of Johns Creek, GA!

Educational Background: Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minn. Early Childhood Director Qualifications and Units completed at Santa Ana College, Santa Ana, Calif.

Vicar Zach Neumann

Vicar Neumann is in his third year of pastoral training at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and is serving his vicar year at Messiah under the guidance of Pastor Lewis. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Martin Luther College and has gained experience in a variety of ministry settings, including mission-focused summer assignments in Texas and Wisconsin, as well as two years assisting at an inner-city congregation in Milwaukee. He is scheduled to graduate with a Master of Divinity in 2027.

Zach grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where his father serves as a pastor and his mother works in Lutheran education. He has two sisters who also live and work in Wisconsin along with their husbands. Zach has been dating his girlfriend, Katie, for a year and a half. In his free time, he enjoys being with friends and family, sightseeing, playing and watching sports, playing games, listening to music, and traveling whenever possible.
